The built-in 1.25x teleconverter is the star here—flipping it on turns the zoom into a 500mm reach without swapping glass, and the autofocus still snaps onto birds fast. Open box condition looked mint to me, zero scratches on the barrel or glass.

The built-in 1.25x teleconverter is a game-changer for wildlife shoots, letting me switch from 400mm to 500mm without swapping anything. The zoom ring moves silky smooth right out of the box, and the image stabilization held steady on a bumpy boat.

Finally got my hands on this and the integrated 1.25x teleconverter is a game-changer for bird photography—flipping it on gives you that extra reach without swapping lenses. The zoom range is exactly what I needed for distant wildlife, and it feels solid yet balanced on my body.
