For an "as is" item I was braced for the worst, but the battery is actually still holding a charge and the casing is in better shape than the listing photos suggested. It's clearly used, but I got exactly what was pictured and described, which is all I asked for.

The battery’s in there and the case has that lived-in feel you can’t fake, so as-is it’s still a solid pickup for parts or a backup. Plugged it in for a few minutes and it powered up fine, which beats my luck with most used gear.

The battery still holds a decent charge even though it's listed as AS IS, which was a pleasant surprise. The unit itself has some visible wear but matches the pictures exactly. I'm happy with this gamble for the price.
