The autofocus on this used copy is surprisingly snappy and quiet, which made a huge difference for my candid portrait work. The f/1.4 aperture lets in so much light that I’m shooting handheld in near darkness without flash, and the rendering is just gorgeous—creamy, dreamy backgrounds every time.

Took this lens out for some street portraits in fading light, and the f/1.4 aperture let in enough light to keep the shutter speed high. It’s a used lens but the autofocus is still snappy and accurate, no regrets on the purchase.

Shot a friend’s engagement party with this lens last weekend — the f/1.4 aperture let me keep shooting handheld indoors without flash, and the bokeh is genuinely dreamy. The autofocus is snappy for a used lens, too.
