The macro focus ring is incredibly smooth, which made getting sharp shots of a tiny flower much easier than I expected. The f/2.8 aperture gives a beautiful blur, and for a used lens, the glass is remarkably clean.

Picked this up as a used bargain and was pleasantly surprised how sharp it is wide open, especially at close focus distances. The autofocus is a bit slow on my older body, but for macro work you’re usually manual anyway.
