Honestly, the rear cap alone is worth what I paid, and the lens barrel itself is in decent shape for a parts unit. I mainly needed it as a donor for the IS unit’s ribbon cable, and the glass is clean enough to keep as a backup.

I grabbed this as a spare body cap since it was cheap, and the rear cap fits perfectly to protect my sensor. The glass is clean and the zoom ring turns smoothly even though the autofocus is dead. It's exactly as described for parts use.

I was hoping the autofocus issue would be an easy fix, but no luck so far — still, the glass is clean and the image stabilization works fine for manual shots. For the price, it’s a decent project lens if you’re up for tinkering.
