Gitzo GT2542 Mountaineer Series 2 Carbon Fiber Statief

I’ve been using this tripod on a few long hikes, and the carbon fiber really keeps the weight manageable without sacrificing stability. The twist locks feel solid and precise, and it sets up quickly even with cold fingers.

The leg locks are buttery smooth to adjust, and the carbon fiber keeps the whole setup featherlight even when I’m hiking for miles. It holds rock steady in a breeze, and the twist locks haven’t loosened once during a full day of shooting. Perfect balance of weight and rigidity for landscape work.

I’ve taken this thing up through rainforest mud and coastal fog, and the carbon legs still twist-lock tight with zero wobble. The Series 2 stability is just right for my 70-200mm on a windy ridgeline, and at this weight I barely notice it in my pack.
