Voigtlander Nokton 75mm f/1.5 Aspherical Lens (Black)

The black Voigtlander Nokton 75mm f/1.5 Aspherical is a fast, small M-mount lens distinguished by its vintage rendering. It is a portrait-length prime with a retro aesthetic. Its brilliant f/1.5 maximum aperture is ideal for working in low light and also gives you more control over the depth of field when employing selective focus to isolate subjects. Three anomalous partial dispersion elements and one aspherical element are used in the optical design, which contributes to high color accuracy and sharpness by suppressing a number of aberrations. Additionally, the 12-blade diaphragm adds to the attractive bokeh quality, and the manual focus design enables working with subjects up to 2.3' away.

Features

  • To achieve high clarity and color accuracy, three anomalous partial dispersion elements significantly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations.
  • The seven elements in six groups construction has one aspherical element added at the back, which helps to reduce spherical aberrations and distortions.
  • Working in low-light situations is made easier by the bright f/1.5 maximum aperture, which also gives users more control over the focus point for selective focus applications.
  • A rangefinder coupled minimum focusing distance of 2.3' is made possible by manual focus design.
  • When using shallow depth of field techniques, the twelve-blade diaphragm lends to a beautiful out-of-focus look.
  • This lens, which is a member of Voigtlander's Vintage Line, has a traditional black finish that gives it a timeless appearance reminiscent of earlier Voigtlander lenses and complements traditional rangefinder camera designs.
  • When working in bright, backlit environments, the included lens hood helps prevent stray light from creating lens flare and ghosting.

Mia W. ★★★★★

That bokeh at f/1.5 is exactly the vintage look I was chasing — dreamy but not mushy, with a lovely swirl in busy backgrounds. It's surprisingly compact for a 75mm, so it balances beautifully on my M body without feeling like a brick.

David W. ★★★★★

The focus ring is buttery smooth and the f/1.5 aperture gives that dreamy, vintage glow I was hoping for—the bokeh just melts. It’s surprisingly compact for a 75mm, so it balances perfectly on my M body without feeling front-heavy. Exactly the rendering I wanted for portraits.

Steven ★★★★★

I’ve been shooting street portraits with this 75mm and the compact size is the real win—it balances perfectly on my M-mount body without feeling front-heavy. The aspherical element keeps edges sharp even wide open, which I didn't expect from such a small lens.
