The all-metal build feels reassuringly solid in hand, and the 350mm reach paired with that 2X converter gives me a massive 700mm equivalent for birding shots. Focus is stiff but precise, exactly what you'd expect from a vintage prime from this era.

For the price, the sharpness with the 2X converter attached surprised me—definitely usable for moon shots if you nail the focus. The all-metal barrel is nicely balanced on my tripod, though the manual aperture ring clicks are a bit stiff.
