Compact Size & Weight.

Weighing just 5.25 pounds and just over 15 inches, the NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S Lens is one of the lightest and most packable 800mm lenses you’ll find. With a weight this light, you’ll be able to use this lens handheld to capture images with more reach than previously possible on Nikon Z-series cameras. The lightweight and compact design was achieved by using Nikon’s Phase Fresnel element, which allows the lens to be much lighter and use fewer lens elements. This is all while maintaining the same quality you’ve come to expect from NIKKOR lenses.

Longest Lens In The Z Lineup.

The NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S Lens boasts the most reach of any Z-Series lens (at the time of release). Mirrorless Nikon shooters now have an incredibly high-quality lens that can reach out to 800mm, and even higher with a teleconverter.

Compatible with Nikon Teleconverters

For those that need even more reach, this lens works with Nikon’s Z Teleconverter TC-1.4x and the Z Teleconverter TC-2.0x to extend the range to 1120mm and 1600mm, respectively.

Smooth Paning.

The NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S Lens has been specially designed to have the center of gravity closer to the camera. This allows you to pan the camera while shooting handheld or on a monopod much easier.

Features:

  • Incredibly light, at a mere 5.25 pounds and just over 15", Nikonfs most mobile, comfortable-handling 800mm super-telephoto to date
  • Outstanding vibration reduction, achieves up to up to 5.0 stops1 of compensation
  • Extend zoom performance even further using available Z TELECONVERTER TC-1.4x and Z TELECONVERTER TC-2.0x
  • Ergonomic controls with handily accessible buttons and switches

Sofia ★★★★★

The VR system makes handheld shooting at sunrise possible without a tripod, which is exactly what I needed for wildlife. The focus ring has just the right amount of resistance for fine-tuning.

Emma T. ★★★★★

The 5.25-pound weight is the real deal—I can hike with this thing slung over my shoulder and still have energy to shoot. It's genuinely compact for an 800mm, and the focus ring feels buttery smooth right out of the box. Wildlife shots that used to require a tripod are now one-handed captures.

Owen T. ★★★★★

I was skeptical about hand-holding a super-telephoto, but the VR system in this lens lets me get sharp shots at 1/60th of a second. It’s surprisingly easy to balance on a gimbal too.
