Nikon HN-40 Lens Hood

This hood cut out the side light perfectly during a recent sunset shoot, and the screw-on design feels secure without any play. It’s compact enough to keep in my bag, but does the job without adding bulk to the front of the lens.

Screw-on mount means zero fiddling with bayonet alignment, it threads on smoothly and locks tight every time. I've been shooting into the sun for a week and the flare control on my glass is night and day better.

The flare reduction is exactly what I needed for bright outdoor shots, and the screw-on fit feels rock solid once it's snug. It's light enough that I forget it's on the front of the lens.
